Dec23- Busy little wine bar. Room for 2 at the bar. Good vibes.
2 small glasses of wine; one red, one orange.
£29.95.
Made my eyes water !
Lovely place ruined by the rude staff. Seemed like they were all high as the waiter not only forgot what size wine I ordered but actually forgot about the bread & olives my sister and I also ordered. Came to over £50 for bread, olives, a wine & glass of champagne. For this you’d expect good service but incredibly rude and like everything was a bit much to ask.
Had the house white at £37 a bottle with some duck liver pâté. £55 for three people including very nice service. Don’t come here if you are concerned about money! I enjoyed my wine and the service was nice.
Not a big selection of wine by the glass, but wjat i had was nice. Big selection of great bottles makes up for it though. Nice charcuterie platters, loved the atmosphere.
The atmosphere outside is average, as it feels like you’re just in the middle of the street sat on a table. Maybe if they had something to separate the area from the street like barriers it would feel a bit more cozy. Great wine selection, although limited on the orange if buying by the glass. Little bit more expensive than the other natural wine bars I go to but this is because of the location. Haven’t tried their food because nothing seemed that interesting.
Outdoor heating on with no customers?! Are you trying to waste money and ruin the environment on purpose? Best avoid.
I know that is central London. I know that eating out is expensive now. But £75 for 3 glasses of wine between 2 people and one sliced tomato with 3(!) anchovies on top seems a bit too much.
The three glasses we ordered were natural wines, quite simple wines. No complexity or any particular note to add.
The last glass was presented as similar to an Argentinian Malbec. We got a natural fizzy chilled red, with poor concentration of flavours. Completely other side of the spectrum.
If you want to charge these prices, try to provide what you are offering.
Very disappointed!
My partner and I were really excited to visit this wine bar, which is known for its really nice selection of wines.
Regrettably, after the bottle of wine was served (also presented with chipped glasses which were changed after we asked to) and some food was ordered, suddenly the emergency building flat’s alarm went annoyingly on for at least 20 to 30 minutes.
Further the inconvenience, a staff member informed us that they wouldn’t feel comfortable to serve us the food, because they didn’t know how long the sound of the alarm would have last and consequently, the server offered us to take away the bottle which was already opened and partly poured.
Not to mention that one of the staff members, that to us looked in charge of the venue, seemed very stressed and instead of reassuring guests that it was nothing to worry about, he made us feel not welcome because of the issue that he was experiencing.
Despite the fact that the alarm is not staff’s fault, and even considering the situation, we didn’t expect any discount. We would have just appreciate a bit more of acknowledgement from the team who didn’t pay much attention to us and our unfortunate and unpleasant experience.
The bill was fully charged, without any apology or interest regarding our discomfort.
